What's Kids Day, or Children's Day or whatever? I mean, it's nice to unfreeze to a present, but what is it?

Well see, I'm not really sure but a couple of my Japanese friends told me it's to celebrate kids or something. I guess there's a Princess day for girls and Kid's day used to be just for boys but they opened it up for both genders?

The way I see it, any excuse to celebrate!
